Author Websites

A professional author website. Starting at $65 a year.

Independent authors deserve a real home on the internet — not a DIY page cluttered with someone else's ads. We build clean, professional author websites that showcase your book, reflect your voice, and cost a fraction of what Wix or Squarespace charge.

If you're a self-published or independent author, you already know that looking credible matters. Readers, reviewers, and bookstores want to see that you take your work seriously — and a professional website is one of the clearest signals that you do. We've built author sites that do exactly that: get out of the way of your writing, put your book front and center, and give readers a place to find you.

What we build

What a typical author site includes.

Most author sites are elegantly simple. Yours will typically include:

  • Your book — cover image, description, genre, and links to buy it wherever it's sold (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, your own store, or all of the above)
  • Your author bio — who you are, what you write, and whatever you want readers to know
  • A contact form — so readers, press, and event organizers can reach you
  • Your own domain name — yourname.com or yourbooktitle.com, not a subdomain on someone else's platform
  • A newsletter signup — if you have a mailing list or want to start one (see add-ons below)

Clean. Professional. Focused on your book. Exactly what it needs to be.

Two paths

Two ways to do this — depending on what you need.

Not every author needs the same thing, so we offer two approaches. Here's how to think about which one fits you:

Path 1 — The simple, affordable site

A professional presence, without the overhead.

Best for: authors who want a professional presence without a lot of ongoing complexity.

We build you a fast, clean, custom website and host it for $65/year — significantly less than the $200+ per year that Wix, Squarespace, and similar platforms charge for comparable plans. Security, backups, and uptime are included.

The tradeoff: this type of site isn't self-editable. When you want to make a change — update your bio, add a review quote, or add a new book — you contact us and we handle it at $50/hour. Most small updates take less than an hour, and we'll always give you an estimate before we start work. For many authors, paying occasionally for a small update is a much better deal than paying $200 a year just to have the ability to do it yourself.

Path 2 — A platform-based site with full control

Edit it yourself, and grow it over time.

Best for: authors who want to update their site themselves, add more features (a blog, event listings, merchandise, etc.), or plan to grow their site significantly over time.

We build your site on Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress — platforms you can log into and edit yourself. You get more flexibility and full self-service access. Design and hosting pricing follows our standard web design rates.

A little more, if you want it.

Want a newsletter too?

A mailing list is one of the most valuable things an independent author can have — a direct line to your readers that no algorithm can take away. If you want help setting one up, we can get you started on a platform like Mailchimp or ConvertKit, help you connect a signup form to your site, and walk you through how to use it.

Newsletter setup typically takes fewer than five hours, depending on how much guidance you'd like. We'll give you an estimate upfront.

$50/hour

Published a second book? We've got you.

When your next book comes out, we'll update your site to feature it. Depending on how much changes — whether you're adding a book to an existing page or reworking the site's structure significantly — this can range from a couple of hours to more. We'll have a quick conversation about what you need and give you a clear estimate before any work begins.

How it works

How to get started.

01

Tell us about your book

Drop us a note or schedule a quick call. Tell us about your book, what you're hoping the site will do for you, and any design preferences you have. We'll confirm which path makes sense and give you a clear quote.

02

You send us your content

We'll tell you exactly what we need — your author photo, book cover, bio copy, the links where your book is sold, and anything else that belongs on the site.

03

We build it

We take care of everything from design to launch. Most simple author sites are ready within a week or two of receiving your content.

04

Your book has a home

We'll walk you through what we built, make sure you're happy with it, and handle hosting from there. When you need an update, we're one message away.

Don't take our word for it
