Drake, an Iowa native with more than a decade of experience in web design and digital marketing, is committed to continuing the company's nearly 30-year mission of delivering reliable, affordable, and effective technology services to small businesses and nonprofits across Dubuque, Eastern Iowa, and beyond.

Founded on April 7, 1997, Net-Smart, Inc. spent nearly three decades building relationships with businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations across Eastern Iowa. Lynch built the company on a simple but powerful idea: local organizations deserved a real technology partner, someone who would sit down with them, learn their operation, and offer honest advice without jargon, unnecessary upsells, or mystery fees. Lynch, a longtime Dubuque city council member and current president of Dubuque Initiatives, will remain with the company as Client Services Director, ensuring continuity for existing clients and maintaining the deep community relationships he spent nearly 30 years cultivating.

Under Drake's ownership, NetSmart Digital Solutions is expanding its service offerings to include digital marketing and local SEO, professional email setup through Google Workspace, and technology consulting — including clear, honest guidance on how small businesses and nonprofits can thoughtfully adopt emerging tools like artificial intelligence. The company will continue to offer web design and hosting at transparent, accessible prices built around the realities of small organizations.

Drake's roots in Dubuque and Eastern Iowa run deep. He grew up in Dubuque, and his very first client — Body & Soul Wellness Center and Spa — was a Dubuque business he began working with while still in high school. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Coralville and visit Dubuque regularly to spend time with family and cheer on his brother at Miracle League games at Veterans Park.

Before acquiring NetSmart, Drake spent more than a decade as a freelance web designer and digital marketing consultant, and served as a research specialist at the University of Iowa.
